McLemore Konschnik LLP has chosen the Charlie Waller Trust as its 2024 Charity of the Year. The law firm has set a target to raise £20,000 for the charity in 2024.
The Charlie Waller Trust provides mental health training to help people look after their wellbeing, with a mission to educate young people and those with responsibility for them – their parents and carers, teachers, college and university staff, employers – about their mental health and wellbeing. The Charlie Waller Trust was created by the Waller family in 1997 in response to the tragic loss of Charlie to suicide whilst he was suffering from depression. It has since become one of the UK’s most respected mental health charities. The Charlie Waller Trust has a positive, practical and proven approach, which gives people confidence to talk openly about mental health, and skills that last a lifetime.
MK LLP partner Kristin Konschnik said:
Sadly, mental health and well-being is not discussed openly enough in the legal profession, even though it is a well-known challenge for many lawyers. We are pleased to support The Charlie Waller Trust as our 2024 Charity of the Year. The Charlie Waller Trust focuses on children and young people, providing them and those with responsibility for them with training and resources to build greater resilience, confidence and the skills to take care of their mental health.
We hope that providing this support to children and young people will give them the tools they need to look after their mental health now, through their transition to adulthood and their working life, and going forward.
